No. 1 in spending Posted on May 11th
While it’s certainly a serious topic, I couldn’t help but laugh as I read the story, “Iraq: U.S. has no claim to oil boom” (May 1, Page 1). Bayan Jabr al-Zubaidi, Iraq’s finance minister, explains why Iraq’s ministries have had a hard time spending the greater than expected oil revenues: “Many ministers lack the expertise to properly spend large amounts of money.”
Perhaps we could send some of our elected officials to Iraq to help out. This is definitely one problem we do not have here in the U.S.
