Bob: Well, the good news is that both Obama and McCain are at least talking the talk. I mean, more than two years ago, Obama very succinctly articulated what every American should be deeply concerned about: “The Achilles heel of the most powerful country on earth is the oil we cannot live without.” You and I both agree that energy independence needs to become sound policy rather than just a sound bite. But as you said, Americans have been hearing these recycled promises for decades. Meaningful energy policy should be front-and-center in the run for the White House.
