Have Europeans lost faith in the EU? Posted on July 2nd

Poland’s President Lech Kaczynski has said he is not planning to sign the EU reform treaty, even though the Polish parliament has already ratified it. Can the EU make a united decision on the treaty?

The Polish president said that it would be pointless to sign the Lisbon treaty at the moment.

All 27 members must make a unanimous decision to ratify it but Ireland has refused to do so, following a referendum last month.

The French President Nicholas Sarkozy has said that “something isn’t right” with the EU and Europeans may be losing faith in it.
