The best candidate for women Posted on September 4th
I‘ve always believed Barack Obama was the best candidate for women. Many of my friends supported Hillary Clinton during the primaries. Since John McCain announced picking Sarah Palin as his running mate, I have had many conversations with these friends, and am convinced that McCain is wrong if he thinks the selection of Palin will move a significant number of former Clinton supporters.
They supported Clinton not just because she is a woman but because they believed Clinton was right on the issues.
In stark contrast, Palin adamantly opposes a woman’s right to choose, she opposes stem-cell research and is wrong on the gun laws that will help keep our children safe on the street.
Now it is our responsibility to ensure that we tell our neighbors and friends and women across the country that Obama is the candidate who will fight for women. It is a natural progression for Clinton’s women supporters to become Obama voters in the general election; they know that Obama is right on the issues important to them as mothers, wives, workers and citizens of this nation.
